Alex Pereira will enter the octagon to defend his light heavyweight UFC against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday.
Pereira, with a laudable record of 12 wins and 2 defeats, is preparing for his fourth defense of the title. His successful year, marked by three defenses of the victorious title, opens the way to an intense battle against Ankalaev. Pereira comes out of a Tko triumph on Khalil Routree Jr. at UFC 307 in October and a KO in the second round against Jiri Near UFC 303 in June.
His opponent, Ankalaev, is a force with which he must count and holds a record of 20-1-1. Ankalaev has just targeted a unanimous decision on Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 308 in October.
The co-printing event, initially ready to present Justin Gaethje and Dan Hooker in a light fight, took an unexpected turn. Hooker, unfortunately, had to withdraw from the fight due to a broken hand which he suffered a few weeks ago. Intervening for him is the Rafael Fiziev, just as qualified, promising an equally exciting match.
