Gerrit Cole authorizes two circuits while twins strengthen the Yankees

The Yankees fell to the Minnesota Twins on Thursday afternoon, losing by a final score of 8-4 in Tampa.

Here are the main dishes to remember …

Gerrit Cole looked well on the mound in the first, his fast ball exceeding about 96 mph while he was laying the twins in order. The second round was more difficult, however, because Cole granted three strokes and a bag to allow Minnesota to take a two -point lead. Then came the big blow, as Matt Wallner broken a three -point circuit on the right on a lead at 97 MPH.

Cole was lifted after this three -point circuit, but he returned to start the third. He authorized another home run, a solo shot to Brooks LeeAnd his day ended after 2.2 rounds. Cole granted six points (five deserved) on five strokes while removing two strikers.

-I was also a difficult day on the bump to Luke Weaverwhich allowed its own circuit to the old Yankee Mike Ford. Weaver recorded only one, granting a point on two strokes while withdrawing one and walking one.

Overall, the Yankees pitching granted four home circuits in the afternoon.

Anthony Volpe had an adventurous high of the second round. After launching a double game double game at the first base, Volpe aligning a check -up with runners on the corners and one. Volpe also went 0 for 3 to marble with some stick withdrawals.

Aaron judge was the designated striker for the Yankees, and he went 0 for 1 with two balls on balls. With DH judge, Cody Bellinger started in the right field, and he looked comfortable, playing perfectly with a line of the wall to hold Lee to one and prevent a scoring race. Bellinger will be the central starting field for the Yankees Come Opening Day, but it is good to see it also comfortable in the corners.

JC EscarraFighting for the work of a rescue receiver has led a pair of races below the seventh. It was not pretty, but the check blooper dropped safely in the left center, marking two points.

Later, with two withdrawals in the ninth, Esmarra torn a home run solo just above the wall in the center right.

Esmarra rebounded in the minor leagues and played independent baseball in 2022 and 2023, but he impressed in the Yankees minor leagues system last season, and is now fighting to go back Austin Wells.
