The Rapid City Rush, a proud affiliate Echl of the NHL Calgary Flames, announced Thursday that goalkeeper Connor Murphy had signed a two-lane contract from the National Hockey League with the Flames for the rest of the 2024-25 season.
The 26 -year -old goalkeeper spent his entire professional career in the Calgary system, dividing time between the Calgary rush and the Wranglers. He leads Rapid City this season in goals against the average (2.97) and the percentage of stops (0.912) while compiling a file of 8-6-4 in 19 games.
Hudson Falls’ second year goalkeeper NY also made four Hockey League departures this season, winning two. He played 19 AHL games in his career.
Murphy was reassigned to the rush on February 11 after a one -month stay in Calgary and has been in Rapid City since.
A new contract in hand, Murphy is with the Nevada team for the series of three Rush games against the Tahoe Knight Monsters, which begins on Wednesday.
Rapid City will go for a record of punctual franchise during his very first trip to Tahoe, after having obtained a point in 13 consecutive competitions.
The rush fell at Idaho 4-3 in overtime last Saturday at the Ice Arena monument. While the defeat broke the sequence of 11 consecutive victories of the club, the point sequence remains intact. The sequence of 11 consecutive victories was the second longer in the history of the franchise.
